The first ever Thunder on the River

The first ever Thunder on the River was an event held in Beattyville, KY the first weekend in August 2011. There were over 80 classic cars cruising main street and many of them participated in the “Burn Out” competition. Every car had 60 seconds to make the biggest burn out they could and the crowd decided the winner. Around 200 spectators gathered on bleachers placed safely behind concrete barricades and enjoyed the ear busting noise and the smell of burnt rubber. Winner was Donald Wade Jr. with his 1971 Chevelle Super sport.
