The City of Beattyville has issued an addendum to the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Beattyville WPA Window Assessment Repair/Rehabilitation Services Project.
The original RFP was released on June 4, 2026. Proposals must be received by 4:00 p.m. EST (3:00 p.m. CST) on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Proposal Submission Address:
Kentucky River Area Development District
Attn: Jennifer McIntosh
941 North Main Street
Hazard, KY 41701
A mandatory project walkthrough was held on June 18, 2026, and questions were accepted through June 22, 2026. The following clarifications have been issued:
Question 1: Is there a contractor available for asbestos removal?
Answer: Yes. The City of Beattyville has an existing contract with a certified asbestos abatement contractor, and separate pricing for window abatement has already been secured.
Question 2: Should contractors submit two separate bids if some windows require replacement while others can be repaired?
Answer: No. Contractors should submit a single proposal identifying which windows they recommend repairing and which they recommend replacing. The City recognizes that some windows may not be salvageable; however, preserving as many original windows as possible remains a priority. Any replacement windows should closely match the original materials and appearance to maintain the historic integrity of the building.
Interested firms are encouraged to review the complete addendum before submitting their proposals.WPA Windows Addendum 6-26-26
